The Sentry™
Card# MTU-017

While his stats aren’t much bigger than those of the average 7-drop, Sentry’s “Pay ATK” power can drastically hinder an opponent’s attacking options in the late game.

There are players on the Pro Circuit that qualified using Pro Circuit Credits accumulated at other Pro Circuits. There are those that won Pro Circuit Qualifiers. For some, they qualified for this tournament by virtue of strong finishes at a variety of $10K or PCQ events that got them up to the magic amount of credits needed to be able to play in the big show this weekend. Gary Wise is even cashing in his courtesy invite.

For some, though, this sort of qualification is just too easy. These are the people that like to try and put their trousers on both legs at the same time. They decide that rather than just building their decks ‘regular style,' they will foil it out and mix in extended art cards as they are released.

David Fashbinder is one of these people. He played all three Constructed Last Chance Qualifiers, and finished in the Top 8 of all three. Thus far, he has missed out at the last hurdle twice, but perhaps for him third time is the charm.

He's known to his workmates as "Flashbanger," and today, he is playing Evil Medical School, due to the fact that he has tired of playing Sentinels and was looking for a “mental workout.” David eagerly advocates innovation as a great way to ensure that players can beat their local metagame and have a whole mess of fun too. Considering that he has played 50 percent more rounds today than he will need to tomorrow if he qualifies, and still has a smile on his face, it looks as though he might have broken the format.

Most of his present testing occurs online, but this New York native still has plenty of opportunity to play in real life, and when he does, his all foil decks are quite eye-catching. He is currently in the process of foiling out his DC Modern Age decks for Indianapolis, and made the (possibly foolish) declaration that he will trade any foil Armies of Qward straight up for packs of Green Lantern Corps all weekend.

Having made such masterful plays as using Mystical Paralysis to exhaust a Boliver Trask for the win, and double-reinforcing a GCPD Officer in order to bring Press the Attack live, Fashbinder has shown that he has all the moves to compete on the Pro Circuit. Keep your eyes peeled to see if he makes it.
