The Sentry™
Card# MTU-017

While his stats aren’t much bigger than those of the average 7-drop, Sentry’s “Pay ATK” power can drastically hinder an opponent’s attacking options in the late game.

Deck Profile: Crisis on Infinite Dooms
Billy Zonos

FTN is one of the most successful pro teams on the circuit today. They are best known for playing the fastest, most aggressive decks in a given format. This time, they brought something different . . . or maybe just a familiar deck with a new twist. I sat down with the legendary Alex Tennet to get the inside scoop.

So tell me a little about your “Crisis on Infinite Dooms” deck.

It was a deck I think Jonesy made or found. It’s really just a riff on Common Enemy, just a better version. And we did play CE last year, so we were all comfortable with it.

Are you all running the same deck?

Yes, plus or minus a few cards. I think Dalton took out the Grodd for an 8-drop Dr. Doom. But, yeah, it’s pretty standard across the board.

Did the recent bannings affect your deck choice?

Not really. If anything, it affected our deck indirectly. Without the bannings, it would have changed the metagame to an extent that we would have had to switch out some meta cards. But that’s it. UDE acted so swiftly that we didn’t need to test the “broken” decks. I guess it worked out all right for us in the end.

What makes your deck the best deck for this PC?

I think it’s the deck’s versatility that makes it stands out. With Enemy of My Enemy and Crisis on Infinite Earths, it really is the ultimate character toolbox deck. Plus having the curve of 3-drop Doom, 4-drop Doom, and Garth gives you insane card advantage.

Did you guys change the deck once you got here and were able to feel out the metagame?

We threw in a Supermanhunter once we found out about that Devil’s Due deck. And we took out the Flame Trap because it didn’t seem like there were going to be many rush decks.
