The Sentry™
Card# MTU-017

While his stats aren’t much bigger than those of the average 7-drop, Sentry’s “Pay ATK” power can drastically hinder an opponent’s attacking options in the late game.

Chris Green and the Power of Teamwork
Rui Oliveira

I was walking around the tournament area when I stopped Andre Mueller’s huge frame. The German is known for his good gaming skills and loud comments while playing. I decided to check out his match. As in Bologna, he was playing the “standard” Curve Sentinels deck that led Hans Joachim to the title, but this time with Hounds of Ahab for some extra trickery.

His opponent, Chris Green, seemed to be playing a strange deck. As I sat down, he had Dagger, Child of Light, Tibetan Monks, Blade, Eric Brooks, and . . . Shimmer and Dr. Light, Arthur Light. Yup, that’s three teams right there. But wait, the plot thickens.

As the game progressed, Mueller got out the usual setup of Bastion and Magneto, Master of Magnetism. Across the table, Green answered with an amazing move. With no cards in hand, he drew . . . Silver Surfer™! That’s right, Silver Surfer™. Yes, it’s a Fantastic Four character. So what? He revealed another Midnight Sons and dropped the Silver Surfer™.

He then used Wild Ride to fetch Tibetan Monks. He discarded to steal the initiative and turned the soon-to-be death blow into a strike back. On turn 9, he drew another Dr. Light, Arthur Light. Now that . . . that was just a beating.

Mueller tried to load up on Sentinel Mark IIs to slow Green down. He got three on the table, but Chris would not be denied. He used his Dr. Light, and played another one with boost, returning a world of trouble: two copies of Dr. Doom, Diabolic Genius, two copies of Boris, Dr. Light, and a ton of creatures. Dr. Doom, Diabolic Genius gave him another shot at Wild Ride to steal the initiative, Boris got him Mystical Paralysis, and Andre Mueller extended his hand.

Wow.

If this is what Marvel Knights will be bringing along, get ready for some amazing stunts.

For now, here’s a sneak peek at Chris Green’s deck.
