The Sentry™
Card# MTU-017

While his stats aren’t much bigger than those of the average 7-drop, Sentry’s “Pay ATK” power can drastically hinder an opponent’s attacking options in the late game.

The tournament is over, and folks . . . we have a winner! Adam Prosak, one of eight Teen Titans players in the event, overcame one of the most diverse fields in memory to take home the trophy. Adam is no stranger to Day 2—or Day 3, for that matter. His finishes include an astounding six $10K Top 8s and a Top 8 performance at PC Amsterdam. One of the most consistent players in the game, Adam Prosak has established himself as a force to be reckoned with.

Adam’s victory isn’t the only story to come out of this tournament, though. To many, Atlanta represents a new renaissance of Golden Age as the stranglehold that Curve Sentinels held on the format diminished somewhat. This weekend we saw all manner of tier 1 decks, from old staples to brand new Kang- and Avengers-based engines of destruction. As one of the last $10K events before the upcoming Pro Circuit in Los Angeles, this tournament will do much do define the metagame there. Will Teen Titans rule the day at the Pro Circuit, as well? We’ll have to see. But for now, congratulations to Adam Prosak, $10K Atlanta champion!

The finals of this tournament is as classic a matchup as you can get—Curve Sentinels against Teen Titans.
Adam is playing Teen Titans and beat Donald Noland in a mirror match to make it here. David’s MK-KO deck took down Jason Tassitano’s Kang conglomeration to earn his place at the table.
The players chatted about their matchups while shuffling up for the second game. “This time, for variety, he’s going to Hounds-lock me,” quipped Jason.
Everything you ever wanted to know about your Top 8 finalists!
The format had a few surprises in store for us—not the least of which was that it appeared to be very balanced.

The winner of this round is likely to make Top 8, while the loser will probably walk away with nothing.
This match pits Nick Little against “one of his barns.” They have a sizable split, so the match is mostly for fun.
Adam Prosak comes into this match at 6-1, while Patric Giles is 5-2.
Sentinels is still at the top, but this is certainly one of the most diverse metagames I have ever seen.
Please excuse the excessive coverage of David Leader’s matches——here he is doing his best impression of a handstand in an attempt to keep the attention of you, our loyal readers.
I have been told by the players that this is a mirror match. That, in and of itself, is not a surprise. What is surprising, though, is that they are playing independently designed MK-KO decks.
Wess Victory’s last major finish was his win at this very tournament a year ago, and he’s looking to make a comeback. His opponent, Matthew Long, is playing that old standby, Sentinels.

Doug led off with a Moon Knight, while Patrick used another Wild Ride to fetch another Midnight Sons. “Damn it,” said Patrick. “I have nothing.”
Since we don’t have a Top 8 quite yet, I opted instead to watch the top eight tables to get a feeling for the undefeated metagame.

Choosing feature matches is often a very difficult task. Not so here. Both of these players are true heavyweights in the Vs. world and they need no introduction.
Before the tournament got underway, I sat down to do a quick interview with Nick Little.
“What are you running, boss?” asked Garrett of Patrick as the competitors sat down. “Something new. Or at least I think it’s something new.”
Welcome to $10K Atlanta!
