The Sentry™
Card# MTU-017

While his stats aren’t much bigger than those of the average 7-drop, Sentry’s “Pay ATK” power can drastically hinder an opponent’s attacking options in the late game.

The day is over, and frequent $10K Top 8 contender Scott Smith can now add the title of $10K Melbourne Champion to his resume. Scott Smith took apart all challengers, and played well throughout the weekend. In the quarterfinals, he played against number two seed Scott Hunstad, and beat him convincingly two games to zero. He then played David Helsby, and massacred him in two games. Alex Brown dispatched Early Nyugen before pulling off a lucky win against Andrew Morris. Alex vs. Scott pitted number one seed again number six seed, and the latter prevailed. Congratulations to Scott Smith, $10K Melbourne Champion!

Scott Smith and Alex Brown duke it out in the final match of the tournament!
Two of the four seeded players were knocked out of the Top 8 in the quarterfinals, and only Alex Brown and Scott Smith survived. Scott is playing David Helsby in the other semifinal, while I am covering Alex Brown’s match against Andrew Morris.
Luke Bartter has made multiple $10K Top 8 appearances, and I seeded him fourth going into this tournament. He is facing Andrew Morris, who is playing in his very first $10K!
I had Scott as my second seed going into the tournament, and he has not disappointed me so far.
Playing for a possible Top 8 berth, both of these players needed to win this draft pod to even have a chance of making it.
See how Alex Brown's deck stacks up!
Sitting down and covering Alex Brown’s drafting for a place in the Top 8 was an honor.

The winner of the round would be the only undefeated player left in the tournament.
This was the battle of the ages, yet it had to happen during round 5 and not the finals. Nevertheless, it was going to be an exciting match to cover.
The first thing Scott does is look at the registration sheet, not to see if it is correct but to see if it contains any Faces of Evil.
They were there for pride, for glory, for fame . . . but most of all, for bragging rights!
Both Alex and Lindsay are from Sydney, which is the Vs. capital of Australia.
These two were both on my Top 8 Seedings list—how could I not cover this match in the first round?
Just like in professional sports, I am going to rank the eight players who I think have the best chance of winning the whole thing—with a little explanation to boot.
I sat down with the widely known Alex “Uly” Brown to talk about The Avengers, PC Indy, writing for Metagame, his nickname, terrorists, and what he thinks of having such a high rating going into this tournament.
Welcome to $10K Melbourne!
