“How do you pronounce that?”
It’s a question Kakarot Turker (pronounced kak-a-rot, so it’s not that hard, really) hears frequently.
This 17-year-old from Adelaide is all about getting the most out of life, including the most fun.
“I’m used to be a student, but now I’m more into hanging out, travelling around and playing games,” he says.
Being tall, athletic and decked out in an impressive dreadlocked hairdo, Kakarot presents an imposing figure on the other side of the table. Added to that is his fast, calculating mind and quick-fire speech and hand movements. He’s almost hyper-kinetic.
Kakarot is one of the better players hailing from the South Australia capital and he chose a straight Teen Titans build as his deck of choice for the Melbourne 10K.
“Teen Titans is the most skill-intensive deck in the format and I enjoy that kind of challenge. I’m also very confident in my play skills, so I’m trying to milk the TT for their maximum potential,” he says.
That confidence and sharp mind served him well at the 10K, but the metagame of Curve Sentinels worked against him, keeping him just out of the money.
Speaking of money, Kakarot says he is a huge Dragonball Z/GT fans and he spends almost all of his Vs. System winnings on those DVDs. Ever an ambassador for his city, he says that any Dragonball Z fans who visit Adelaide should definitely contact him.
