Round 6: Jason Chew vs. Bertram Chuang
Nick Wong

Jason started the game with a GCPD Officer, while Bertram recruited Alfred Pennyworth. Jason flipped a Bat-Signal, getting his own butler and another GCPD on turn 2, while Bertam just watched and passed the turn without making a drop of his own. The game progressed with small chips at one another’s endurance totals, until Bertram got a Batman, Caped Crusader and armed him with a Utility Belt. Following that with a Flame Trap, Bertram managed to stun Jason’s board after a Fizzle war. Jason then Signal Flared for Invisible Woman and played the Richards couple on his next turn, revealing the hybrid nature of his deck. By turn 6, each side had a Utility Belt, with Jason’s on a GCPD and Bertram’s on Batman. Getting through each other’s Belts and Fizzles, Jason managed to play World’s Finest and Cosmic Radiation, all the while flipping through his deck with Reed Richards in the hope of drawing more Utility Belts. Playing Alfred on turn 8 allowed Jason to play Batman, the Dark Knight, and he began drawing mad amounts of cards. Magneto, Master of Magnetism joined Bertram’s team, which had been steadily building up while Jason was trying to set up his engine. By turn 8, Bertram's solid board position, which now included Robin, Jason Todd, and Azrael, left him ready to make the kill as he watched Jason draw cards without actually playing anything. Clutching eleven cards in his hand, none of which were characters to add to his defense, Jason got overwhelmed as time was called on the match.
