Round 10: Mario Tarin vs. Miguel Tarin
Rui Oliveira

You can’t find a more intense conflict than that of brother against brother. Both the Tarins sit at the top of the standings with eight points apiece. They are both guaranteed a spot in the Top 8 and should probably take this round off to rest.

Still, sometimes older brothers have to make the tough choices and give their younger brother a lesson. Or maybe they just wanted a feature match . . . anyway, they decided to play.

Miguel started with
Mastermind and Thornn, Feral Hunter before Mario played Sentinel Mark II. The TNB (The New Brotherhood) player answered with Quicksilver, Pietro Maximoff, and the battle began.

Showing no mercy for his brother, Miguel unleashed
Sabretooth, Feral Rage and The New Brotherhood. Apparently, the younger Tarin wasn’t a big fan of being bullied, so he answered with three Overloads. Only the first one was stopped by Not So Fast. He helped things along with Total Anarchy.

Miguel made a few comments that I can’t even try to print, and it’s not because my Spanish isn’t very good.

Suddenly, Mario’s fourth turn nearly evened the game. Miguel tried to fight back as the
Sentinel Mark Vs piled up. He found Foiled and used it to send away the Total Anarchy, which allowed him to play another small horde.

Patiently, Mario Tarin used
Boliver Trask to bring up a third Sentinel Mark V. He played it, and despite his low endurance total, he seemed on the brink of regaining control of the table.

But older brothers have a sneaky way of letting you think you can play at their level and then shifting gears one last time, leaving you biting their dust. Miguel struck back and revealed two
Savage Beatdowns—just enough to send his younger brother packing.
