Who are these people, and what do they do?
Au Yong Wai Kin is a computer science undergraduate student in Kuala Lumpur who likes Vs. System because he finds it simple and well balanced. He chose the Teen Titans deck because he felt it was the best deck in the format. He aspires to play on the Pro Circuit.
Vincent Chan picked up this game because of his interest in the comic books that it’s based on. He feels that some of its appeal also lies in how well balanced it is. He likes the X-men, and is therefore running the TOGIT X-Stall deck. He hopes this opportunity will rocket him into the Pro Circuit.
Chan Yong Hui is a student and avid computer gamer. He likes DC comics, and that’s partly why he picked up the game. He piloted the TOGIT X-Stall deck because he was sick of Big Brotherhood being trashed all the time, and also because he didn’t like plot twist–reliant decks. He hopes there will be a pro Circuit tournament in South East Asia that he may some day attend.
Lee Keng Yin’s best accomplishment prior to today’s Top 8 was a second place finish in a Singaporean PCQ. He plays several other card games, and his love for comics led him start playing Vs. System. He is running an unusual League of Assassins/Brotherhood hybrid that he convinced of when he saw the Superman set.
Bertram Chuang finished in the Top 20 at a recent $10K tournament at PC LA. He says he picked up the game because of the nice people who play it back in Singapore. He’s running Gotham Knights because he feels it’s consistent and doesn’t have any really bad matchups. He would love to attend another Pro Circuit tournament, should he be given the chance.
Jonathan Koe was covered in a feature earlier in the day.
Eugene Tan picked up the game because he felt it was easy and interesting. He is running Curve Sentinels because he feels it doesn’t require much thinking. When not gaming, he spends his time with his wife and son.
