We’ve been previewing Marvel Team-Up on Metagame.com for almost a month now, and everything will culminate with the Sneak Preview this weekend. I sound like a broken record every time a Sneak Preview weekend comes around, but I can honestly say that these tournaments are the most fun you can have playing Vs. System. You not only get to play with a new set for the first time, but you can also get your hands on exclusive, free items, plus meet up with all the local players in your region.
Let’s take a look at some of the free stuff you can get this weekend. As a reminder, these items are limited, so you’ll want to show up early to have the best chance to walk home with one.
Everyone who shows up will receive this exclusive Extended Art foil version of Spider-Man, Parasitic Host. Top finishers will receive the exclusive Extended Art foil Spider-Man, The Sensational Spider-Man.
Funny story about that. . .
As many perceptive players have noticed, The Sensational Spider-Man is one part of a bigger piece of art, which makes it perfect for a “stacker.” The problem is, the intention was to ship out the regular version (seen above) in the Sneak Preview kits, but the stacker version went out instead. Oops.
You will have the option of either keeping your “half a stacker” (or “Staa . . .” as the cool kids call it), or trading it in for the full version above at UDE events in 2007.
Other items you can get include a t-shirt and playmat (pictured below), and a deck box.
UDE has been giving out these t-shirts and playmats at Sneak Previews for years, and we can’t remember a set that’s generated more positive response than Marvel Team-Up. The epic battle scene on the playmat is the art for one of the best cards in the set, and the badass artwork for Spider-Man, Stark’s Protégé is perfect on a t-shirt.
Marvel Team-Up Sneak Previews will be happening worldwide this weekend, so click here to check out a list of locations and find the one nearest you! You can’t beat a weekend of playing Vs. System and then coming home with new cards and cool, free stuff.
