In the last round of the first Sealed pod, both players held on to their perfect records through sheer grit and determination. Now, only one of them will emerge from the pod unscathed.

Lester chose the odd initiatives, and the game kicked off on turn 2 with Andrew’s Dr. Psycho, Mental Giant and Lester’s Ishmael Gregor ◊ Sabbac stunning each other.

Turn 3 saw Lester play Lex Luthor, Champion of the Common Man equipped with Cloak of Nabu, while Andrew recruited Ahmed Samsarra in the concealed area. Ishmael attacked Dr. Psycho and Andrew flipped Checkmate Safe House naming Checkmate / Villains United and activated to save a point of endurance before the double stun. After Lex barreled into him, Andrew sent Ahmed to wreak vengeance on Lex, and Lester flipped Defend Yourself! for the double stun. Both players lost their turn 2-drop.

Andrew missed his drop and had to settle for Zazzala ◊ Queen Bee, Mistress of the Hive on turn 4. Fortunately, Lester was unable to capitalize on the situation, as he could only muster Dr. Polaris, Force of Nature himself. When Zazzala attacked Dr. Polaris, Lester flipped Rann and used Lex for reinforcement. What he did not expect was for Andrew to play Systematic Torture on Dr. Polaris.

It was another bad turn for Lester on turn 5, as he could only muster Talia, Beloved Betrayer and Zatanna, Magical Manipulator. Andrew recruited Black Adam, Teth-Adam equipped with Knight Armor behind Zazzala. Zatanna attacked Zazzala with an activation of Rann for a double stun, and Lester passed the initiative. Black Adam attacked Lex Luthor and Lester exhausted both his characters to play Revitalize, recovering Zatanna. Ahmed Samsarra then attacked and stunned Zatanna. At the end of the turn, Andrew flipped Coercion naming JSA / Villains United, and Lester lost Zatanna. The endurance totals now stood at Andrew’s 24 to Lester’s 22.

On turn 6, Andrew exhausted Zazzala and removed Jaime Reyes ◊ Blue Beetle from the game to search for Laser Watch. He then flipped Baddest of the Bad and returned Zazzala to search for Superman, Earth 2. He recruited Superman and equipped Laser Watch onto him. The board position looked pretty bad for Lester at this point and he lapsed deep into thought before recruiting Dr. Fate, Hector Hall in the concealed area. He then formed with everyone in the support row.

Ahmed Samsarra attacked Talia and Lex reinforced. Superman then slammed into Lex Luthor and Andrew flipped twin Epic Battles! Lester recognized he was outgunned and gracefully conceded.
