The Sentry™
Card# MTU-017
While his stats aren’t much bigger than those of the average 7-drop, Sentry’s “Pay ATK” power can drastically hinder an opponent’s attacking options in the late game.

The tournament was nearing the business end of proceedings in the final rounds, and a clearer image of the top table metagame could be seen. Dr Light decks were still dominating proceedings, but there are still some surprises in store for Golden Age.
Table 1: Chris Kwan (Dr. Light combo) vs. Adrian Capilitan (Common Enemy) Adrian, who made Top 8 of the recent $10K Brisbane, had been keeping these decks down all day—but he finally he lost his first match of the tournament to Chris Kwan. Adrian missed the crucial turn 4 Dr. Doom, Diabolic Genius, and that was all she wrote. Chris Kwan used Black Cat, Master Thief to stall the game to a point that he could safely give all his characters have ATK and DEF in the millions. That usually wins a game.
Table 2: Michael Bonus (Dr. Light combo) vs. James White (“Kiwi Fruit” GL/EE) James White has been the flagship player of the newly emerging “Kiwi Fruit” Green Lantern/Emerald Enemies deck, and showed why the deck has such game agaist Dr. Light by dismantling Michael Bonus. With Kyle Rayner, Last Green Lantern and Tomar-Re, he was able to generate enough disruption to be able to Chopping Block his way to victory.
Table 3: Peter Allan (Dr. Light Combo) vs. Scott Smith (Curve Sentinels) This game was over in a flash, and ended with a frustrated Smith getting up and screaming “I Hate Combo!” at the top of his lungs. Allan had a dream draw, not requiring any search to find his combo, and went off turn 4 with no resistance from the Curve Sentinels player. Smith had missed his turn 1 and turn 3 drops, and so could not take advantage of flipping an early Total Anarchy.
Table 4: Kenny Tan (Curve Sentinels) vs. Kakarot Turker (Curve Sentinels) In what is now a bit of a quaint matchup, Kenny was able to take advantage of Kakarot's missed drops (he didn't play a character until turn 4) to dominate the board. Kenny was too far ahead in endurance for Turker to make a comeback, and the purple robots took themselves down.
Table 5: Paul van der Werk (Dr. Light Combo) vs. Alex Antonius (Curve Sentinels) Paul, who has made two straight $10K Top 8s, was playing down to Alex Antonius, playing Curve Sentinels. Paul was on the back foot for the entire game, but was able to stymie the young Sentinel player, despite having no board except a hidden Valeria. On turn 6, he dropped the entire combo. Holding four copies of Cosmic Radiation, he was able to handily dispatch the robots.
