The Sentry™
Card# MTU-017

While his stats aren’t much bigger than those of the average 7-drop, Sentry’s “Pay ATK” power can drastically hinder an opponent’s attacking options in the late game.

Let me hit you with some knowledge. The Scholarship Circuit is a way for young players to take their Vs. System skills and use them to pay the proverbial bills—the college bills, that is. The tournament is broken down into two age groups. The younger kids play in a group for ages fifteen and under, while the older kids get their own bracket for players age sixteen to eighteen.

The best part of the Scholarship Circuit is that it’s exclusive of the Pro Circuit; you can participate in both. For the player who is able to thrive in the Pro Circuit, this is a good way to earn a few extra thousand dollars for college. Today, we have two new scholarship winners with some good stories to tell.

Andrew Trevino and William Cody won their respective age brackets in today’s Scholarship Circuit. Andrew took his Avengers deck to a perfect 6-0 record before he conceded to his final opponent in round 7 of the sixteen to eighteen bracket. The best part of this story is the deck he used to get his near perfect record. He actually borrowed his friend and teammate Aaron Weil’s deck from the Pro Circuit. For those of you who haven’t paid attention to the coverage from the tournament thus far (and shame on you), Aaron Weil became the first person in Pro Circuit history to go undefeated on Day 1. If you don’t count Andrew’s concession in round 7, the Avengers reservist deck managed a whopping 16-0 record over the past few days.

His younger counterpart, William Cody, played Teen Titans in the Pro Circuit yesterday. After failing to make Day 2, he decided that a change of strategy was in order. He found a Curve Sentinels deck and managed to ride it to a 5-2 record, the best of any age fifteen or younger player. He has been playing since the game came out and has been qualified for the Pro Circuit for some time now.

Both of these players showed a tremendous amount of skill in the tournament today and show great promise for the next generation of Vs. System players. For their efforts today, they each won a $1,000 scholarship, an extended art Bastion, and an Avengers deck tin.
