The Sentry™
Card# MTU-017

While his stats aren’t much bigger than those of the average 7-drop, Sentry’s “Pay ATK” power can drastically hinder an opponent’s attacking options in the late game.

Deckbuilding with Scott Hunstad
Enchante Chang

I sat down with Scott Hunstad for Sealed Pack deck construction. Scott has had some recent success at PC: Amsterdam, coming in fourth place. We will see what this master of Vs. can do.

There was glee on Scott’s face when he pulled two
Head Shots, a Crime and Punishment, and a Wild Ride. Unfortunately, though, he also had three Cobras with no Mr. Hyde, as well as two Morbius with no Hypnotic Charms.

I know for a fact that Scott likes Crime Lords as a team, and that’s what he pulled out at the start to see how his card pool is.
Wild Ride was added, and so were some Marvel Knights characters. He was forced into Marvel Knights, though—all of his good offensive plot twists were team-restricted to Marvel Knights. Scott’s 7-drops looked poor, as he had only Orphan, Good Guy and Nightmare. With no Marvel Teamups—or any team-ups whatsoever, for that matter—Scott didn’t seem too happy.

“The deck I opened was so much better. I don’t have any team-ups besides this
Honor Among Thieves . . . I do have a Mendel Stromm . . . I could pull it off.”—Scott Hunstad

With no team-ups or 7-drops in his team, he is looking at X-Statix as an option. It seemed to me that he had an abundance of 5-drops, and wished they were either better plot twists or 7-drops.

This is Scott’s decklist for you to ponder over:

Characters
3
Cobra
2 Daredevil, Protector of Hell’s Kitchen
1 Kingpin, Wilson Fisk
2 Masked Marauder
1 Luke Cage, Street Enforcer
1 Jester
2 Mr. Fear
2 Nuke
1 Elektra, Assassin
1 Morbius
1 Iron Fist, Living Weapon
1 Nightmare
1 Tryks
1 Zeitgeist

Plot Twists
1
Crime and Punishment
1 Drive-by Shooting
1 Dead Weight
1 Marked for Death
2 Head Shot
1 No Rest for the Wicked
1 Quick Kill
1 Wild Ride
1 Missed Drop

Not the greatest deck, and in the words of Mr. Hunstad himself—“This deck makes me want to cry.”
