The Sentry™
Card# MTU-017

While his stats aren’t much bigger than those of the average 7-drop, Sentry’s “Pay ATK” power can drastically hinder an opponent’s attacking options in the late game.

Green Lantern Corps: Free Stuff at the Sneak Preview!
Toby Wachter

Once again, a Sneak Preview is upon us. This time around, it’s the much-anticipated Green Lantern Corps set that you’ll get to play with before it’s released. From the excitement on Metagame the past two weeks and the buzz on message boards, it seems like everyone wants to get their hands on cards like Hal Jordan, Parallax, Mosaic World, and the Manhunters. At the Sneak Preview, you’ll not only be able to get some of these cards, but you can walk home with some cool schwag as well.

This is the Green Lantern Corps playmat. The spellcheck on Microsoft Word is trying to make me call it the Green Lantern Corps “playmate,” and while it may not be that hot, it still looks really good.

Here’s the deck box you can pick up this weekend as well. You don’t necessarily need to house a Green Lantern deck in there, although walking away from the Sneak Preview weekend with enough cards to build one and the proper deck box to put it in would be pretty sweet. No worries—it works just as well carrying around Fantastic Fun or those ubiquitous purple robots.

So how do you pick up these gems? You can earn them by performing well or as a door prize. Ryan Jones and Adam Horvath will probably walk away with one if they show up, and so can Joe Shmoe. That random guy is probably somewhere at your Sneak Preview, and he’s probably doing something crazy like activating Longshot while screaming, “No whammy, no whammy, no whammy, stop!

So yeah. That guy? He can walk away with one of these items, and so can a Pro Circuit Champion. You’re certainly somewhere in the middle (if you are Brian Kibler, Ryan Jones, Adam Horvath, or the guy who runs Longshot with no duplicates, then I apologize for making this generalization). Play well, or just get lucky, and they’re yours for the taking. There’s one important thing to remember - you’ll want to show up on time for the first tournament, since that’s when all of these puppies will be given out. Every location will have a bunch though, so if you drag yourself out of bed, you’ll have a good chance of winning one.

Oh, and of course, everyone who shows up will get an exclusive extended art promo of Guy Gardner, Strong Arm of the Corps (while supplies last).

Do well, and you’ll get one of these babies.

If you’ve been to a Sneak Preview weekend before, I really don’t need to give you any more hype, and I don’t need to convince you to go. You know how much fun it is, and I’m sure you’ll be there again. For those of you who haven’t gone before, you don’t know what you’re missing. Sneak Previews are not only the most fun you’ll have playing Vs. System, but the most fun you’ll have gaming, period. It’s an enjoyable, casual environment with just enough competition to keep things interesting.
