Day 1 of the Pro Circuit is over, and Indianapolis has been rocked by the sheer power of the Green Lantern/Emerald Enemies. While Kermit remarked that it isn’t easy being green, players with more unusual choices for the format must have been green with envy at how powerful the deck proved to be, in spite of the best efforts toward beating it from deckbuilders around the world.
Standing at the top of the tables at the end of Day 1 is Anthony Shaheen, who suffered only a single defeat with his GLEE deck. Hot on his heels were a further six players with 10-2 records, of which half were also sporting GLEE. Rounding out this cast of heroes were a brave few that piloted something different. Ryan Lockard and Mark Stich were playing Anti-Matter based stall decks that abused Qward, while Michael Jacob, ever the free spirit, showed the way with Superman Robots backed up by Soldiers of New Genesis.
All of this will be put on the back burner for a day, as these players battle at the draft tables, along with those chasing them. After two drafts of the Green Lantern Corps set, and one of the brand-new Avengers set, only the best in both formats can hope to compete for the title of Pro Circuit Indianapolis Champion 2005.
