The Sentry™
Card# MTU-017

While his stats aren’t much bigger than those of the average 7-drop, Sentry’s “Pay ATK” power can drastically hinder an opponent’s attacking options in the late game.

$10K Melbourne 2006
Metagame Staff

After an all-Kree finale, Melbourne has been left with an Oceanic prince of Silver Age in Darryn Ying. Darryn and opponent Kakarot Turker faced off in a Press-tastic grand finale, with both members of The Four Horsemen sporting identical builds of the Kree/Inhumans "Eat Kree . . . or Die" deck. Using key cards, San, Stargate, and practically every Kree Press character (no Clumsy Foul-Up though folks!), the deck is able to build and rebuild the entire board turn after turn.

Their hot-tech of Funeral For a friend proved essential, with Melbourne reinforcing the fact that Silver Age is one of the fastest formats that the game has ever seen.

Meanwhile, both Good Guys and "Lost in Space" proved that they have staying power, by making their way into the Top 4, and Top 8 regular, Faces of Evil, showed that it is still one of the most powerful decks around.

If you are playing along at home, be sure to check out Matt Barton's innovative weenie stall deck, "Hyper Mighty G." The deck uses El Guapo, Battering Ram and House of Secrets to ensure that the deck makes it all the way to a Captain Marvel, Champion of Magic win condition — now that’s different!

Props to our entire Top 8, and congratulations to Darryn Ying — winner of $10K Melbourne 2006!

Wait . . . is that Alex Antonios sneaking into the Winner’s shot?! Can’t that kid take a hint . . . ?!
