The Sentry™
Card# MTU-017

While his stats aren’t much bigger than those of the average 7-drop, Sentry’s “Pay ATK” power can drastically hinder an opponent’s attacking options in the late game.

$10K Indianapolis 2006
Metagame Staff

After a long weekend, Team Kings Games has walked away holding the trophy and the title of $10K Indianapolis 2006 Champions! After squeaking into Day 2 with a win in round 9, Alex Shvartsman, Freddie Crespo, and Mike Olivson showed that they had earned their spot by running their drafts with efficiency all day, using a predetermined set of signals to control their draft tables and advance to the finals. After a long two days of Sealed pools and drafts, their finals opponents conceded, giving the first championship of the format to a team that’s a recognizable force in Vs. System.

The team they met in the finals was just as big of a story: Team No Name. Sau Hoang, Sacha Akow, and Chris Kulisz came up with their team name due to the fact that they were all unknowns without a single Sunday appearance to their names before today. They played the role of Goliath killers in the quarterfinals when they defeated a more experienced team composed of Nick Little, Karl Horn, and Dair Grant. They proved that it wasn’t a fluke by dispatching Team Stupid in a similar way before advancing to the finals. After today, Team No Name might actually have to decide on a name.

The very first Team Sealed $10K has come and gone, and it was a raging success! Players enjoyed the skill involved in constructing decks with more packs and other players, not to mention the camaraderie from competing alongside their friends. Congratulations to Team $10K Indianapolis Champions Kings Games!

Day 2
Brush Your Teeth seemed less than optimistic as they sat down, claiming that it was going to be a short match.
ATM FTW is no stranger to Sunday play, but this is the first appearance for No Name, who has only a single Pro Circuit Day 2 finish between them.
ATMFTW and Team No Name are two teams from vastly different backgrounds.
Day 1
Not FTN has had a rough run at matches since their last appearance here in the feature match area.
Both teams came into this round at 6-1, hoping to get a win here to ensure an appearance at the Draft tables tomorrow.
This team isn’t lacking any experience, and they look to be in good position to make Day 2 with a record of 4-1 going into the second Sealed Pool of the day.
These teams came into the round as the tournament’s only undefeated players, sitting at 5-0.
With this being the inaugural Team Sealed event, we thought you would like to know the players behind some of the teams here today.
This round pits Team AttaQC, the French Canadian team, against Team Hector Hammond FTW, a group from St. Louis and Ohio.
There was plenty of joking as everyone sat down, with lots of recognizable faces around the table.
“Depressed yesterday, but pumped today!” was what Peter Sundholm said when asked how he felt about the weekend, and the rest of this star-studded team was sporting the same attitude.
