Curve Sentinels managed to rise to the top of the pile again in last chance qualifier two, presumably with a bit of help from the magnetic feats of a certain ‘
Magneto, Master of Magnetism' who remains at large. However, there was some success from the defences mustered by the collective of mutants, with Force powering up all the way into the PC. Those at the Evil Medical School raised a pinky to their smirks at the insurgence of purple robots, ignoring the “lasers” of their opposition and creating dominant board position with the scheming of Dr Doom.
Looking further down the field, there was a large amount of variation as to what people chose to play to make it onto the Pro Circuit. My personal favorites are an Arkham Inmates/Marvel Knights beatdown deck, and a Heroes United build that looks to overpower Sentinels by virtue of having more pumps and big guys than the 1996 Mr. Universe competition. Could it be that the consistency of a deck featuring lots of similar-looking robots is enough to push those players over the top in a varied field, or was it that various ‘metagame' decks pushed each other out of the competition? Sentinels represented only four of the decks in the LCQ, and fully half of them qualified for the PC.
If you are walking down a dark alley, and come across a twelve-foot tall robot painted purple, watch out—it's every bit as dangerous as it appears.
