Glenn and Leighton face off in an all Kiwi feature match! Glenn won the roll and chose the even initiative.
Turn 1 had first blood on Leighton’s side as he recruited the card advantage character Micro-Chip. On turn 2, Glenn recruited Zodiak and smashed his way through Leighton’s Lacuna. Endurance totals were tied at 47 apiece.
On turn 3, Leighton recruited Brother Voodoo and placed him in front of Micro-Chip, with Lacuna beside Micro-Chip. Glenn had Daredevil, which went head-on with Voodoo. Glenn counterattacked into Micro-Chip, but Leighton had Blown to Pieces . . . and that’s exactly what happened to Zodiak. Endurance was 42–41 in favor of Leighton.
Moon Knight kicked off turn 4 on Glenn’s side of the board. Leighton had Saracen. Moon Knight attacked Brother Voodoo, which got reinforced by Lacuna. Daredevil came at Saracen with the help of Crime and Punishment and his own pump ability. The recovery phase led to Leighton losing Brother Voodoo and a change in endurance advantage with Glenn taking the lead 32–36.
Turn 5 seemed like turn 4. Leighton played Echo and Glenn played U-Go-Girl, Tragic Teleporter. Echo attacked Moon Knight and traded stuns. Saracen attacked Daredevil, which caused him to stun—and because Leighton had passed, he played Judge, Jury and Executioner to KO Moon Knight. Glenn got in some endurance loss when U-Go-Girl attacked Lacuna for a full 7 damage.
Ghost Rider, Johnny Blaze was Glenn’s play, while Leighton had Spider-Man, the Spectacular Spider-Man. This Spider-Man is a bomb, and it had the potential to win the game for Leighton on the next turn if he used it correctly. Glenn knew this, and decided to decimate the board by having everyone stun everyone else. It was so chaotic that Ghost Rider and Spider-Man were the only characters left! The endurance count going into what would likely be the final turn was 7–11 in Glenn’s favor.
Elektra, Agent of the Hand was a great play from Leighton, but he didn’t boost her and played Iron Fist instead. While Glenn was recruiting Blackheart, Leighton realized his mistake.
Spider-Man exhausted everyone to pave the way for Elektra to attack Blackheart. Elektra was given a +6 ATK boost with Head Shot. This put Glenn at –3 endurance, and that was the ball game. |
