The Sentry™

While his stats aren’t much bigger than those of the average 7-drop, Sentry’s “Pay ATK” power can drastically hinder an opponent’s attacking options in the late game.

How did the second draft compare to the first draft in terms of the players? Being in the first pod, these were more experienced players, so players knew how to draft archetypes. Really, though, the drafts were not too different.
What teams did you draft? Masters of Evil and Thunderbolts, because I first-picked Faces of Evil and locked myself in. The next player to my left was trying to make the same deck, so it was bad for him.
Any surprising late picks? No. The players knew what to take—everyone had the basics down.
What was your key to winning? The first game my opponent won, after going first. Then I went first, and drew good cards. Finally, my opponent went first, but missed his drops.
What made the deck so good? Two copies of Faces of Evil. I am running eight 1-drops, including Yellowjacket, who can boost. I also have three 2-drops, two 3-drops, three 4-drops, one 5-drop, and one 6-drop. Two copies of The Wrecking Crew helped, too.
Will you attend the next Pro Circuit at Gen Con So Cal? If Ikeda-san goes to Pro Circuits, then I will go, in general—but we might be too busy in November.
Anything you want to tell the rest of the world? One day, we’ll have a Japanese Pro Circuit winner. His name will be Kunnihiko Kishishita. |
