 How did you learn about Vs. System?
Toby Wachter sent me samples and told me to play. Lots of my good friends were interested in the game.
What teams did you choose for your second sealed deck build?
Avengers and Masters of Evil—they were best for my curve, although I only have one pump, one copy of The Wrecking Crew. My curve is great, though.
Which build did you feel better about?
My first build, because it had lots of pumps and good plot twists. This time, I only have two or three nice plot twists, but I do have three Team-Ups that help a lot. Team attacking is really important! At the end of this match, Ikeda scooped when I flipped Two Worlds, since I would have been able to team-attack and stun his Skymax for the win.
Describe the skill level of your opponents.
My opponents were great. Ishida is a great friend and a great player. I’m usually covering events, so it’s been seven years since I have played competitively. This is my first big tournament of any kind.
You are a long-time journalist for TCGs. How does it feel to be playing and winning, instead of covering other players’ matches?
It feels fantastic. Toby, where are you?
What was the most interesting play today?
I had Hank Pym ◊ Ant Man between Iron Man, Tony Stark and Heinrich Zemo ◊ Baron Zemo in the visible area. When I team-attacked, Hank Pym became a 7ATK / 2 DEF attacker.
