 Kunihiko Kishishita made the long trek up to Tokyo from Fukuoka to defend his title as Japan’s first Vs. System champion. His trophy is proudly displayed at Fireball, the card game shop he works in back home, where he says Vs. System is steadily gaining popularity. “In Japan, most card games appeal to elementary and junior high school kids. Vs. System, with its American comic book superheroes, is more suited to adults, so the market for Vs. System is a bit different.”

Get lucky in the draft.
How would you like to see Vs. System tournaments in Japan develop?
I think Japanese players would really respond well to Constructed tournaments.
How are things going after your second draft?
My first deck was weaker. I’ve got a pretty good one now.
