This week, I want to tell you some more about the next month of Hobby League. As I mentioned back in January, City Championships are going to be supported through our Hobby League program during the month following a new set’s release. It works like this: When a retail shop orders a Hobby League kit as normal, that kit will come with twice as much support (and for no additional cost, either). Each store will still get support for a full month’s worth of league play, and in addition, each store will receive support for a single City Championship Tournament. It will be up to each store to schedule its City Championship on a date that works best for its players. It’s suggested that stores in the same area try to avoid conflicting with each other so players can participate in multiple events throughout the month if they want.
In March, our Hobby League kit will look like this:
Hobby League
Participation: Daredevil, New Kingpin Extended Art foil
2nd through 4th place: Punisher, Frank Castle Extended Art foil
1st place: Dr. Strange, Founding Father Extended Art foil
League Champion: Hobby League T-Shirt
City Championship
Participation: Harry Osborn ◊ Green Goblin, Unfortunate Son Extended Art foil
2nd through 4th place: Beast, New Defender Extended Art foil
City Champion:
Thanos, Courting Death Extended Art foil

The chance to have your likeness appear on a future Vs. System card.
Okay, so I’m sure your first question is: “How does winning a City Championship get me the chance to have my likeness used on a future Vs. System card?” City Champions will need to send printed copies of their decklists—along with some other information—to UDE by a specific date. Eight Vs. System R&D team members will then each select a deck to play, after which they will then have a week to build the decks and practice with them. At the end of the week, R&D will play a tournament in which the submitter of the winning deck wins his or her likeness on a future card. We will, of course, support this event with full web coverage so that everyone can follow the action.
This is your chance to be immortalized on a Vs. System card forever.
Best,
Scott
