The Sentry™
Card# MTU-017

While his stats aren’t much bigger than those of the average 7-drop, Sentry’s “Pay ATK” power can drastically hinder an opponent’s attacking options in the late game.

In a matter of weeks, Peter Sundholm has gone from virtual omnipresence in the background of dang near every premier event in Vs. to practical rock star status—heck, just look at his hair. This weekend, he solidified his standing as one of the best players in the game, and now he’s got the trophy to prove it!

Peter Sundholm piloted his mirror-teched build of Curve Sentinels to an astounding win, defeating Chris Housley and all-star newcomer Olav Rokne, and finally ousting seasoned veteran Patrick Yapjoco in a match that needs to be read to be believed. In a nail-biter of a conclusion, a huge gamble paid off for Sundholm and earned him the win.

The Seattle $10K introduced some interesting tech and demonstrated that Evil Medical School and Fantastic Fun will be huge forces as we draw closer to PC: New York. Fantastic Fun will likely run rampant at the event, but after Sundholm’s victory and an impressive showing from Patrick Yapjoco, players were reminded that Curve Sentinels and Teen Titans are anything but passé. The field is wide open, but for today, Vs. System has a new champion—Peter Sundholm.

Day 2
“You went all-in, man. Congratulations!”
Most of the pre-match banter was unfortunately unsuitable for print, but the gist of it was that Vidi likes to spout expletives a lot and both competitors respect each other as players and friends.
Rokne wreaked a little combat havoc. By the end of the turn, it was his Alfred, two Shimmers, and GCPD Officer to Cabanero’s lone Invisible Girl without her token.
The sun has risen and it is time—the final eight warriors of $10K Seattle are ready for the showdown.

The dust has settled and the field of eighty-one has been whittled down to eight.

In a flurry of burn that was backed by four Cosmic Radiations, Krueger went down like a flaming sack of . . . well, like a flaming sack of fire, so much burn was going on.
He learned quite quickly that Boliver Trask is no match for Shang Chi . . .
“I’m not holding out hopes for Top 8, though, because I’m really not very good.” He smiled, and just briefly, I saw a glint in his eye suggesting that maybe a little bit of him realized he was.
Rokne was beaten but really seemed to enjoy the game. “You didn’t even do Teen Titans Go!” Yapjoco grinned. “I couldn’t! I never had two guys ready!”
One of the great things about Vs. is that a lot of the great vets are really like that—genuinely nice people who genuinely enjoy playing.
Fantastic Fun is a perfect matchup for him—it presents so many options that you need a brain like Vidi’s to really make the most out of it.
“I got greedy . . . I got greedy. If I’d just activated my characters and stuck to burn, things would’ve gone better. But I tried to attack instead, and that really cost me.”
Kurtzhall, playing Curve Sentinels, realized too late that he was actually playing the unfortunate variant of the popular archetype, Can’t Curve Sentinels.
While they were only played in a handful of the 21 Curve Sentinel decks in competition for the day, Micro-Sentinels had a stunning impact.
Backed by four exhausted characters, Dr. Doom, Lord of Latveria attacked, retrieved Press the Attack, and attacked again over and over.

It’s an average Seattle day, and 81 players have braved one of the city’s signature downpours to compete in the latest tournament in the Vs. $10K series.
