Did you go to the Sneak Preview for Justice League of America?

Yes, I did. I went 3-2, losing to a much better deck in one round and screwing up in another.

What do you think of the new set?

The set’s kind of weird; I don’t really know what to think of it. It seems like there isn’t a viable off-curve strategy. The Injustice Gang 1-drops are pretty awful; the +1 ATK Team-Up seems pretty weak compared to Faces of Evil. That’s kind of a bummer, but it makes it easier to draft—you just always draft curve.

What do you think is the best team in the set?

For Sealed Pack, I think Secret Society is the best. Gorilla City is a permanent ATK pump, Slaughter Swamp returns cards you mill off your deck, and With Prejudice is one of the best ATK pumps in the set. They also have one of the best defensive cards, The Plunder Plan. For Constructed, I’ve been told that Injustice Gang is the best, but I don’t really know. Obviously, the power-up strategies aren’t going to work. If they do, Unmasked will be everywhere. I do think that Lost City with Nth Metal will be fine, though.

What cards are you hoping to open in your second Sealed Pack?

Gorilla City, Slaughter Swamp, Gorilla Grodd, and the 5-drop Scarecrow.

Who do you think has the best chance of winning today?

It’s Sealed Pack—anyone can win.
