The Sentry™
Card# MTU-017

While his stats aren’t much bigger than those of the average 7-drop, Sentry’s “Pay ATK” power can drastically hinder an opponent’s attacking options in the late game.

$10K Orlando 2006
Metagame Staff

The final $10K tournament of the year has finally come to an end, and we have ourselves a winner. Craig Edwards came in second place at both a Pro Circuit and a $10K, but today, he’s finally walking away with a championship trophy to put on his mantle.

The format was Legion of Super Heroes Sealed Pack, and Craig accomplished the difficult task of proving his dominance in the format before the set has even been released. This bodes well for Craig at the upcoming PC: Sydney, where Legions Draft will be featured during Day 2. Sydney is quite a ways away, though, so as I write the closing for this tournament, it also represents a long break in the high-level tournament scene.

Things will get back into swing in a big way next year with the advent of $50K tournaments and the most lucrative Pro Circuit stop ever. Keep an eye on Metagame for developments in both of these areas, and while you prepare for the next big thing, remember that it won’t be too long before you have another shot at being like this guy. Congratulations again to Craig Edwards, winner of $10K Orlando!

Day 2
Interestingly, Craig Edwards is playing Titans / Foes and Will Raiman is playing Legionnaires. Darkseid’s Elite, the team that most people consider to be the best in Sealed and Draft in this format, isn’t present at all.
We all know Michael. Will is an Atlanta player who snuck into the Top 8 without so much as a feature match.
These are two experienced pros from two of the top teams in the game.
Craig made it clear that he thought his draft went well. I would tend to agree.
Coming into the final round of the tournament, these players are right on the bubble—the winner has some chance of making Top 8, while the loser has none.
These players are at table 1; both of them were in the first pod for the draft and only have one loss in the tournament.
Billy, who I covered in the draft, has a very solid Teen Titans deck, and he has predicted a 3-0. It’s anyone’s guess what Kyle is bringing to the table.
Billy’s at the second of three Draft tables and likely needs to sport a record of 2-1 or 3-0 to clinch a Top 8 berth.
Day 1
These players both have four wins, so the winner of this match will probably make Day 2.
In this round, we visit recent Pro Circuit champion Adam Prosak. His opponent, Richard Bradley, is a Jacksonville native who drove up for the weekend.
I covered these players in rounds 1 and 2, so they need no introduction.
I sat down with Michael Jacob, professional Vs. player with four PC Top 8s, for the second and final Sealed Pack construction of the day.
Doug Tice is a member of The Donkey Club, and Steve Horowitz is on FTN. Both of them made money in the recent Pro Circuit Los Angeles and both are undefeated so far.
This match pits $10K champ Yoel “Chocolate Thunder” Izsak against Michael “Sunshine” Jacob. Yoel is a $10K champion, and Michael has a number of PC Top 8 finishes under his belt.
Both of these players have had their fair share of success on the Pro Circuit.
Tim Batow is a member of TAWC, and Tillman Bragg represents The Donkey Club. Both are very accomplished pros, and neither seem to be happy with their decks.
Yoel has flown in from Maryland to compete, doubtless looking for a repeat performance of his $10K New York win.
