The Sentry™
Card# MTU-017

While his stats aren’t much bigger than those of the average 7-drop, Sentry’s “Pay ATK” power can drastically hinder an opponent’s attacking options in the late game.

$10K Paris
Metagame Staff

The dust has settled on $10K Paris, and out of 86 original competitors, one man is left standing. Kristian Kockott has truly established himself to be one of the great players of Vs., with this $10K win fresh off of a top 4 finish at Amsterdam. He piloted a fairly standard build of Curve Sentinels—standard, that is, except for the incredible addition of Micro-Sentinels—to a 7-2 record in the Swiss rounds. He was met with the good fortune of an absent opponent in the quarterfinals, but left no doubts as to his ability by dispatching Alexandre Grabowski in the semifinals and the king of the $10K, Dean Sohnle, in the finals. Besides solidifying Kristian’s name among the game’s top players, this tournament also served to bring to the forefront some brand-new tech for one of Vs. System’s most popular decks. Will Micro-Sentinels abound at Pro Circuit: New York? With only a month to go, it’s a sure bet that we’ll see at least some. But, only time will tell.

Congratulations to Kristian Kockott, winner of $10K Paris!

Day 2
Kristian also chose the even initiative, and the deciding game of $10K Paris got underway with a mulligan for the German.
Two Sentinels decks and two Fantastic Four decks have made it to the round of four, and they’ll be playing two mirror matches . . .
“What on earth is that deck?”

Day 1
After eight rounds of Swiss, things are getting very exciting.
Turn 7 brought us *drumroll* two Magneto, Master of Magnetisms.
Back on Hans’ initiative, and both players made their trademark 5-drops in Nimrod and Garth ◊ Tempest.
Robots are made of iron, and magnets attract metal, so you can guess what happened to Nimrod and Magneto.
Well, they’re still Germans, but at least they’re getting bigger.
Kristine had the Overload, but the tricksy German had timed it well and she couldn’t use it to save her trusty robot.
Another feature match, another German.
Bastion was Hans’ response, and he took some time to figure out the best formation to combat the French “all-in formation,” a term invented by (you guessed it) poker fans to describe the all in front setup.
