Ten grueling rounds of Golden Age have ended and the verdict is in—we have ourselves a balanced format. Today’s Top 8 consists of two Teen Titans decks, one Squadron Supreme deck, one New Brotherhood deck, one Avengers deck, one Spider-Friends deck, one Doom control deck . . . and one Sentinels deck. Just one out of the thirty-six that were brought to the tournament. The reign of Curve Sentinels ended today.
If this is a true indicator of the Los Angeles metagame, I like what I see. The format is wide open. Before we start worrying about Los Angeles, though, we have to worry about the Top 8. There are several pros in contention, including Adam Prosak, the hands-down favorite here from the moment his plane touched down in Florida. But still, there are seven others playing seven unique decks, some of which have never before seen play on Sunday. If you want to know which of them will rise to the top and take home the trophy, you’ll have to keep watching. Stay tuned to Metagame.com for all the action from the Top 8 at $10K Orlando!
