Round 10: Jack Garrett vs. Norman Perion
Mike Rosenberg

The game started out slow, with Norman playing Alfred Pennyworth. Jack played Sentinel Mark III on turn 2, while Norman played Spoiler ◊ Robin and activated Alfred to fetch a Fizzle. Mark III went after the Girl Wonder, and Norman responded with Bat-Signal to fetch a new character. Norman recruited She-Thing on turn 3, while Jack had nothing.

Jack recruited Sentinel Mark V on turn 4, and Norman recruited Human Torch, Hotshot. Mark V swung at Human Torch, but Norman activated both the Girl Wonder (to boost Human Torch’s attack) and Human Torch (who burned Jack for 5 endurance). On turn 5, Norman equipped the Girl Wonder with Advanced Hardware, then Tech Upgraded, exhausting She-Thing to get another Advanced Hardware. Norman played Cosmic Radiation after burning Jack for 8 with Hardware and Hotshot, but Jack responded with Overload on Spoiler, stunning her. However, Norman forgot to flip up his Marvel Team-Up, leaving Alfred exhausted. Norman sighed and recruited Invisible Woman, the Invisible Girl. Wyatt and She-Thing protected the Invisible Girl and Alfred, while Hotshot remained unprotected in the support row. Jack recruited Nimrod. With no attacks from Norman, Jack sent his horde of Sentinels after Norman’s field, leaving him with a ready Invisible Girl at the turn’s end.

Norman played Signal Flare at the beginning of turn 6 to get a replacement Hotshot. He recruited Hotshot and equipped an Advanced Hardware on Invisible Girl. Jack simply recruited Bastion. Norman had no attack, leaving Jack to stun Norman’s remaining field. Bastion then went direct and was enhanced to 15 ATK by its own effect for the game.
