The Sentry™
Card# MTU-017

While his stats aren’t much bigger than those of the average 7-drop, Sentry’s “Pay ATK” power can drastically hinder an opponent’s attacking options in the late game.

$10K Boston 2006
Metagame Staff

This tournament was dominated—absolutely dominated—by High Voltage and Teen Titans. In the end, though, neither of those decks went the distance. Instead, one of the tournament’s four Good Guys decks took home the trophy.

What does this mean? Well, first of all, the trophy went to Boston native Nicolas Cuenca, who attends the very university at which the event was held. This made for a lot of jubilant tournament attendees, many of whom also hail from Boston. Second, this probably has implications for the upcoming Pro Circuit in Indianapolis. If Good Guys can dominate in Golden Age, it’ll probably be a powerhouse in DC Modern Age too . . . right? We’ll find out in a little less than a month, but until then, congratulations to Nicolas Cuenca, winner of $10K Boston!

Day 2
A lot of people expected Teen Titans or High Voltage where Nicolas is sitting right now, but apparently, Good Guys has plenty of ability to compete with the more popular decks in the format.
These players are playing virtually identical High Voltage decks.
Guillaume is playing one of three Teen Titans decks, while Nicolas has the only Good Guys deck in the Top 8.
Day 1
If for nothing else, today will certainly be remembered as the day that Teen Titans and High Voltage asserted their overwhelming dominance over Golden Age.
Check out this interesting list.
I am covering this match for exactly one reason; can you figure it out?
We've all seen what can go right at a $10K event . . . but what can go wrong?
We’re staying at the top of the standings for this round. Yu-Ming is the tournament’s only undefeated player.
These players aren’t well known, but they both have Pro Circuit money finishes. Right now, they’re also the only two undefeated players left in the tournament.
These players are both well known in the TCG world, and they both have one loss going into the sixth round.
These players aren’t at the top tables—they are both 2-2 going into the fifth round—but they are certainly still in contention for tomorrow.
Neither player had anything on the first or second turn. The first play of the game was Anthony’s turn 3 Beast Boy; Angel missed his 3-drop.
You might remember Maximilien as a Top 8 finisher at the recent $10K Hamilton. He drove all the way from Quebec to attend this event. Daniel is from nearby Greenfield, Massachusetts.
Mike is an experienced $10K player who has had little success, and Dustin is a lapsed Pro Circuit player who’s coming back to the game after six months.
I have a habit of featuring Stephen at these events, and he keeps telling me that he hates being featured, so this is probably the last you’ll see of him today.
One hundred players are here today on the University of Massachusetts campus in Boston for the first major Golden Age event in several months.
