Drafting with Craig Edwards

Craig Edwards has had a number of near-misses in his Vs. System career, including second place finishes at both a Pro Circuit and a $10K. He’s coming into this final draft looking not for another near miss, but for a decisive victory. This draft is pretty heavy on pros, though, so it’s tough to say whether or not he’ll manage to pull it out. Craig made it clear that he thought his draft went well. He has an unusually high number of combat pumps, including three copies of Five Against One. Many of the packs were pretty dry for Craig; in the first two packs, he took an array of excellent pumps that came to him, and in pack three, he was forced to forego some of that same pump for crucial characters. In fact, Craig drafted three 4-drops and three 5-drops—pretty much exactly the number you’d want to play. As he went about cutting the twelve cards that he wouldn’t be playing, Craig reiterated how excellent he thought his deck was. I would tend to agree.
