As you can tell, I'm not Alex Brown. I have hair.
I am also not Doug Tice. If I was, I would win Pro Circuit Los Angeles in a few short weeks. Right before I read the email from Toby Wachter telling me which awesome Gallery Pack card I was about to preview, I received the following email from Doug:
Hey AP,
What kind of odds will you give me if I bet you that I will win PC: LA? I'm kinda planning on winning, btw.
Tico
I am officially scared.
And excited.
Hi, my name is Adam Prosak, and I am your new resident Sealed Pack expert. Most of the time, I will be helping you get your Draft on or sharpen your Sealed Deck skills, but today we have some Extended Art fish to fry.
The email from Toby went a little something like this:
Hi, do previews for the following cards:
Rian Fike: Obviously not the best card ever.
Steve Garrett: Nope, not the best card ever either.
Michael Barnes: Not the best card ever, but it should've been Breaking Ground.
Adam Prosak: THE BEST CARD EVER!
Thomas Reeve: Not quite as good as the card I'm previewing right now.
Jeremy Blair: Sadly, not the best card ever.
Once upon a time, I won some $10Ks. Two of them, in fact. I remember $10K San Diego and $10K Atlanta quite fondly, and I bring them up at every opportunity. Naturally, Toby made a huge mistake when he told me to write about the historical impact of this preview card. An open invitation to write about myself? Invitation accepted!
I used to be known primarily by my ability to play a certain deck and by my unwillingness to play other decks. That deck was Teen Titans. I would obliterate boards with clever uses of Teen Titans Go!; Press the Attack with my Roy Harper ◊ Arsenal, Sharpshooter; and use Koriand'r ◊ Starfire to shoot down the occasional Bastion or Magneto, Master of Magnetism. Check out this sweet decklist!

While games might have ended with a flurry of Teen Titans Go!, or Press the Attack and some abuse of Roy Harper ◊ Arsenal, one card made it possible. One card could both press any advantage you had in the early turns and allow you to play catch-up with the greatest of ease. Behold, in all of its Extended Art glory!
Some writers might delve into comic lore to preview a card. Knowing next to nothing about comic book characters, I decided to do some research. Cartoon Network, here I come! Amazingly, the Teen Titans cartoon was on. I sat down to watch, jumping with joy at the possibility of learning about the best Vs. System card ever to see print. After an entire episode on the edge of my seat, I wondered why Vic Stone ◊ Cyborg wasn't the best card ever. I guess I'll just have to talk about how awesome Terra is in Vs. System.
She's pretty awesome.
The ability to stun characters directly is amazing, and it’s one I don't think anyone quite understood in the infancy of this game. While Overload is the only direct-stun card that can be found on the banned list, Terra is remarkably similar in her ability to stun small characters for little cost. Replacing a resource is not that big of a cost; it’s even an advantage when you replace a location that no longer has an impact on the game with a useful card. Trust me when I say that replacing an exhausted USS Argus with a useful location is the best feeling in the world.
One of the classic Titans plays is to stun the opponent’s 4-drop—usually with help from Titans Tower or a team attack— and then play Finishing Move on it. The following turn, you can use Terra to stun the opponent’s only remaining character with a recruit cost under 4, leaving him or her with just a 5-drop to attack with. If you’re good friends with a regular PC judge, you can try to sweet-talk him or her into letting you borrow an Extended Art Finishing Move so that you can play the fabled Terra / Finishing Move combo in Extended Art form. It’s like the EA Savage Beatdown / EA Overload combo, only legal. Also, you don’t have to win a PC to acquire the combo—just buy a Gallery Pack!
It's a little-known fact that I hate Tim Willoughby.* It's such a secret that not even Tim himself knows this. My reason for this hatred is because he played a Titans deck without Terra. He even won $10K Indianapolis 2004 with it. Stupid Tim. Thankfully, other champions of the Teen Titans—from Ryan Jones to Rob Leander to Josh Wiitanen—understand how awesome Terra is.
I was told by a somewhat unreliable source** that if you replace a USS Argus by activating an Extended Art Terra, you will always replace it with another copy of USS Argus. I couldn't confirm this with anyone with a clue, though.
I suppose I'm out of superlatives for Extended Art Terra. Join me next week when I talk about regular-sized cards, namely those found in Heralds of Galactus Sealed Deck. Of course, I could just talk about how I beat a Pro Circuit Champion in Draft after he recruited an Extended Art Galactus, Devourer of Worlds.
Adam “You're lucky they didn't make Deathwatch an Extended Art card” Prosak
* I actually don't hate Tim. He is one of my favorite people on this lovely planet. He is also responsible for my favorite signed card, an Extended Art Beetle ◊ Mach 1. It's awesome, but not quite as awesome as Terra.
