Welcome to Atlanta! Thousands of people have come here this weekend for Dragon Con, one of the world’s most interesting conventions. The event’s halls, which encompass almost the entirety of three large hotels, are filled to the brim. Taking a short walk, one might encounter writers, musicians, and people in every sort of costume imaginable.
To those in the know, though, that is pure filler. Legions of Vs. System players have descended upon this unique venue to compete in this weekend’s tournament. Each of the 99 competitors hopes to bring to this tournament the new killer deck for Golden Age and achieve victory with it. In attendance are some of the game’s biggest names. Among the notables to make an appearance today is David Leader, fresh off his recent triumph at PC Indy. It’s a general consensus that no one will be running his trademark GLEE build this weekend—the little guys that it so relies on are hampered too much by cards like Total Anarchy—but hey, you never know. Another big name here is Wess Victory. He won this very tournament a year ago with the old standby, Teen Titans. Last night, though, he was spotted playing some test games with . . . X-Men?
This is already shaping up to be a very interesting weekend, and the brand new Golden Age format appears to have many more surprises in store for us. Stay tuned to Metagame.com for all the latest developments from $10K Atlanta!
