The Sentry™
Card# MTU-017

While his stats aren’t much bigger than those of the average 7-drop, Sentry’s “Pay ATK” power can drastically hinder an opponent’s attacking options in the late game.

Round 10: Top Table Breakdown
"The" Ben Seck

With the Constructed day nearing completion, one thing is very clear—GLEE is still dominating the top tables. Only a few rogue strategies have managed to punch through the Emerald Barrier.

Table 1: Florent Jeudon vs Rob Dougherty

Deck Matchup—GLEE vs GLEE

Both of these players are experienced TCG professionals that chose to play the ever present GLEE. Rob is the owner of the game store chain Your Move Games, which boasts a very skillful set of up and coming Vs. players. Florent hails from France and was one of the early European converts to the superhero card game.

Table 2: Anthony Shaheen vs Reinhardt Blech

Deck Matcuhup—GLEE vs GLEE

Shaheen is also party of the YMG contingent, and he’s playing a more aggressive version of the Green Lantern and Emerald Enemies deck. Blech is another experienced TCG professional—he made the top 8 of $10K Munich playing another ubiquitous deck (Curve Sentinels) as well as being agonizingly coming 9th at PC Amsterdam, missing top eight on tiebreaks.

Table 3: Nicolas Cucena vs Jason Dawson

Deck Matchup—GLEE vs GLEE

Cucena’s presence at table 3 solidifies YMG’s arrival onto the Vs. scene, with four players playing at the top eight tables. He barely missed out making Top 8 at PC Indy last year, losing last round to yours truly to miss the final day. Jason Dawson is no stranger to the top tables, having made Top 8 in multiple $10Ks.

Table 4: Ryan Lockhard vs David Spears

Deck Matchup—Anti-Matter Shadow Creatures vs Anti-Matter Shadow Creatures

Even though there’s another mirror match at this table, it is a welcome breath of fresh air to have two Anti-Matter stall decks face off. Ryan hails from Philadelphia and tests with what used to be Team TOGIT. Spears needs no introduction amongst Vs. circles, but a recent falling out with his Realmworx teammates means that this event will be his swan song on this team.

Table 5: Stephen King vs David Leader

Deck Matchup—GLEE vs GLEE

And it’s programming as normal at table five, with another GLEE mirror.

It’s a rough tournament for those who have decided to go rogue, but there is a sizeable number of non-GLEE decks nipping at the heels of the leader tables. Even after this day is done, there are still nine more rounds of Vs. draft action, highlighted by the premier event debut of the new Avengers set.
