While for many players this is the largest tournament they have played in thus far, there are a few here today who are used to top-level play. Hans Joachim Hoh, Dean Sohnle, and Alex Tennet have all won $10K events before, and plenty of money besides at the Pro Circuit. Suffice to say, they are at least as intimidating to opponents as the players that are roaming the Vs. area dressed as zombies. As they are very much the players to beat (as opposed to the zombies, who are the players to beat with cricket bats), these three pros are the designated “Head Hunted” players for the event. Any player that manages to beat a titan of the game not only wins a point to take them that little bit closer to the Top 8, and a bunch of ranking points, but gets awarded with a Vs. System t-shirt as a trophy of their achievement. We couldn’t really give the players the actual head of their opponent (even this close to Halloween), but hopefully taking the shirt off their backs will be a suitable replacement.
